AP Exams

I am writing today with some important information about the upcoming AP testing period. For the next two weeks, many of our students will take an AP exam in one or more subjects. This can be a stressful time but it should also be an exciting time – they have worked hard all year to prepare for this and the exam gives them an opportunity to show what they have learned.

• If a student has an AP exam in the morning, they are expected to attend their afternoon classes.
• However, if a student has an AP exam in the afternoon, they are not expected to attend their morning classes.
• Unless your student is going to miss their AP test, you do not need to call the US Attendance office if they are only coming in for an afternoon test.
• The rule that stipulates that students must be in by 10 AM in order to participate in after-school activities is also not applicable for students taking afternoon AP tests.
• Students will remain in the testing room for all breaks. Please help your student plan accordingly if they’ll need a snack during the break. Bathroom trips during the break are, of course, permitted.
